minnow paws

Whatever picture my blog title conjures up in your mind is probably pretty weird. Think about it...a minnow with paws? It is unnatural. Minnows don't need paws, they need gills and fins. A minnow with paws cannot swim.

We have a new friend who has come to live with us for awhile. Her name is Harriet. She comes and goes as she pleases, is up a lot at night, cries often, and loses her car in large parking lots after 30 minutes of shopping. My kids are not quite sure what to say to her sometimes. She appears to want their affection, but then suddenly and without notice leaves the room. My husband is very patient and seems to want to research her personality so we know how to live with her. Are there enough fans in the world to satisfy her ever changing thermostat?

Like the minnow with paws, Harriet is signing up for swim lessons.

Dear Harriet,
I do have to admit, I seem to have a love-hate relationship with you. I hope that swimming lessons prove to be helpful :) The rest of the family and I are extremely grateful.
Sincerely,
the first born child

I can't even imagine. I will be praying for Harriet and more for the husband, first born, and youngest child.

I would love to come and swim with you (and Harriet) sometime!

My dear friend, I wish I had a meaningful Bible verse to share with you at a time like this, but all I can think of are mean thoughts directed toward and about Eve. Your wonderful sense of humor will carry you a long ways. Just keep your neck area cool; that seems to help. And I can make a promise: this too shall pass. I know how to pray for you, and I am.

Hormones girlfriend. Cut out the coffee. Even though you get free coffee. Talk to the minnow doctor. He has things that can help. Also large fans in every room. And naps underneath the fans.

On the other side.
